Dave rocks as he showed off his Pepsi and when he opened the mac book air his facial expression was like if he opened the case in pulp fiction and the heavenly golden light hit his face.

Tell that to Steve Wozniak.

It does not always work out that way.

I don't trust Prager or Louderback, that is why i asked for my wall to be higher!
How high? At least 20 feet, steel enforced, locks and small dogs with sharp fangs.

FLip side - open plan offices have also failed because there is not enough privacy to allow people to focus on their jobs. The Rev3 layout is not so bad - the cube wall are low enough for seated barriers, but allow cube gopher to pop their head up and see whats up and carry on conversations.

They'll know things are tight when they start stacking workers into a compactus.

When they were talking about stacking...I suddenly wanted a ceiling on my cube at my workplace.

I hope you're kidding.

Ask for the Indiana Jones "know your hebrew" booby-trap system.

It's weird seeing an office built around cubicles since I've never experienced them myself. I could understand it for a call centre or something more monotonous, but producing content seems to me about creativity and teamwork. Are the cubicles specifically constructed to link employees who work on the same projects? Like for example, are all the people who work on the website in a single unit?

Open plan offices are a nice theory, but there are times when you need to have some level of privacy to isolate yourself enough from distraction to complete the work. Cubicles provide that. Lots of jobs in tech have us become cube gophers - not just call centers.

There is a lot of mundane work that goes on behind the scens so that the creativity can be brought to reality - and that work happens in cubes.
