I haven't tested this extensively yet, but I got a weird sound issue while watching the latest episode of Tekzilla. (I think it's called "peaking") I tried using a different media player, and it was fine, so I just turned down the volume from Miro and turned up my headphones, and it was fine.

Not really sure what was going on....

Miro does have a version for Ubuntu... and yes they list it as for Ubuntu and not for Linux, don't ask me why though... so, you could just get miro, and manually add the Rev3 feeds. The only difference is the Rev3 "version" comes with the feeds.

Also, interesting you mentioned gpodder. I'd love to try it out, but no Windows version? What the crap.

Default Rev3 Branded Miro

Does this work like other so-called branded OSS software?

I am assuming that Rev3 helps support the development of Miro.

No I cannot, because you didn't bother to make a version for Linux.
Or, actually I can as Miro is completely free for Windows, Mac, and Linux, it's just that you didn't bother to make a version for Linux.
It surprises me that you choose to completely ignore the Linux client, as it is no different than the other two, and the changes you have made are very minor. It would have been close to no effort at all for you to also release a Linux client.

Why did you bother to create the client at all? If you did it to promote the station, then you've really only succeeded in promoting the same anti-Open source/anti-Linux stance as is apparent from (especially Patrick's statements in) shows such as Tekzilla and Systm. Sure Miro is Open source, but let's conveniently leave out the biggest Open source operating system, despite it being no effort to release a client for it along with the other two.

You disappoint me again Rev3.

More than likely they didn't have a say on how Miro branded themselves with Rev3. It's most likely that Miro wanted to know what feeds to include (as that is all that it is) and they didn't do a linux one. Rev3 didn't write Miro, nor did they do anything that any other company that has a version of Miro with their name attached did.

hi,

I just downloaded this player a couple of days ago, and for some reason, whenever I boot my computer up, it goes through the quick setup. It does this every single time I boot, even though all the settings have been set.
I do have a different version, however I did try to remove the old version but I still got that message. I'm using a mac so what I did was removed it from the applications folder. That didn't work ,I also removed the miro folder which is under movies and still didn't work. I did like you and kept using the one that worked.
I like it, but is there an easy way to move all of the files I downloaded from iTunes into it, or do I have to redownload them all? (I've never used Miro before, but I like it more than iTunes already).

tnkx.
