As for the issue of "girl gamer" stereotypes, I don't think there is a stereotype. There is one for gamers in general- The fat, socially akward, couch potato, nerdy spoof we see gamers portrayed as. It's a very cartoonish characterization that nobody takes serious(geekdrome logo). It's not any different than the jock stereotype, characterized as being retared rage filled neanderthals.

I think the real issue is that hardcore girl gamers don't get noticed for being as passionate about gaming as guys are. Most people are like me, male or female, and are casual gamers who enjoy a wide variety of games from Marioparty to Doom. But the chicks that eat, breath, and sleep Counter Strike, WoW, or Final Fantasy and play 40+hrs a week shouldn't be treated any differently than guys who do this. It's not right and I think to please them and squash this stereotype we need to start treating them equally. And the only way to do that is to treat them just like the guys, who are a bunch of fucking losers.
