Thumbs up My i33 LAN Video (UK, 1,600+ gamers)

Hey guys,

I thought I might as well post a link to the video I made about the i33 LAN here since I thought that quite a few of you would be interested to see it. For those of you that don't know, i33 was a LAN run by Multiplay in the United Kingdom, and had about 1,600 BYOC gamers there. i34 is set to be around the 2,000 mark at a new location.

You can either view it on YouTube, or download it by clicking the better quality link in the "About this video" section. Also, by following this link you should be provided with a better quality YouTube video. Check out the normal quality YouTube video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4Md4bUx4uM

The official website for i33 can be found here: http://i33.multiplay.co.uk/

Please comment below with your feedback, including any advice if you have any! I will probably be doing another one for i34 since about 15 members of my Community are going, so stay tuned for that one in the summer.

And why should this not be removed as SPAM?

Not sure what you are on about there tokenuser...The links in the posts are to YouTube and the official website for the event, I don't own either of those sites. I kept to the forum rules and kept links to my personal site in my signature. Did I miss something?

So, the big banner across the Youtube video (yes, I watched) that links to your site doesn't count? I am guessing your site is not a video content aggregator or capable of hosting the video.

Correct, my site is not a hosting video content aggregator or capable of hosting the video, it is just a website for my Gaming Community. I wouldn't have posted the links here if it was a competitor to Revision3. I think that since I made a video, it is perfectly fair that I promote my own website in it somewhere. It had never crossed my mind that advertising my site on my video on another site broke the rules here, and if it has I am sorry. Seems strange though that you are criticising me for advertising my site in my video on another site, when having links in my signature here to the same site is perfectly acceptable.

Anyway, thank you for watching the video, did you like it?

Explanation:

I asked why this is not spam. I was hoping that you would come back with a response - more as proof that you were not a bot ... whose first post was to promote a video and an event ... which is spam.

Which you did.

cryptnix responded and said it wasn't spam ... but pointing out the Rules of Conduct, it certainly looks like it.

To be honest, I thought that the links - while spammish in content and execution - were appropriate. If I didn't, I would have just deleted the thread.

FWIW - The video was OK. Technically, it was a little dark - you might want to look at the white balance settings before you film next time. Content wise - it was interesting enough, but too long for an event I had no connection with. I am impressed with the number of attendees for a BYOC LAN event though.

Ah ok, thanks for the explanation, it really helped clear things up. I will try and write less spammishly in the future .

I am glad you thought the video was OK, and I fully understand that the length of it was off-putting for someone who had not attended the event. I will try and make it shorter and more appealing to that category next time. More comments are always appreciated!
