Man, that would never happen but it would rule. I will fight any man who talks bad about Batman. Any man*!

one day Conor, you'll need to explain your love for this series. Your adoration for this show leaves me dumbfounded everytime

total bastardization of the Batman mythos IMO

I'm not talking bad about it! I'm just saying that I'm past really wanting that. If they wanted it and made it hokey I'd be all.... ehhhhhh... I love Adam West. Him on Family Guy is some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard in my entire life.

... Did they release his Batman in seasons yet? And did he do the voice for that animated series pre and post Superfriends? That'd be some good stuff to watch. I remember loving that as a kid. There's some classic stuff in there (the way they jumped into the Batmobile got me EVERY time)

I don't know what's so mystifying about it. If you've ever read any Batman comics from the 1960s then you know that they are like straight up adaptations. In fact, a few of the episodes were straight from the comics. Are wacky Batman comics from the 60s bastardizations of the Batman mythos? I don't even know what that means, anyway. Everything contributes to the mythos.

As a little kid every day the reruns were shown were magical.

I watched reruns when I was a kid. I remember loving it. It's hokey and campy, but there is something magical about that. I feel you, buddy.

i loved it too when i was a kid, but when i got back into comics i fell in love with the batman character the way he is (and was when he was first created). i've read those old 60s issues of Batman, that was a dark, dark time for the Batman character ("he says with his tongue placed firmly in his cheek"). The whole reason he was changed to that horrible campy version was because of the "Seduction of the Innocent" backlash anyways. If you read the original Bob Kane Batman compared to the 60s version, they don't even feel like the same character.

Everyone's entitled to like what they want, but that TV and comic version of Batman definitely isn't for me. it blows my mind really

I don't think alternate interpretations hurt the vision of the character. Batman is versatile enough that he's open to that kind of thing.

I absolutely love it too. Whenever I find reruns I jump for joy.

Did the Adam West show cause the camp of the 60's comics, or did the 60's comics cause the camp of the Adam West show? (Real question, I'm curious)

the comics came first, they were a response Wertham's book

The Seduction of the Innocent thing is one of the best things to happen to pop culture in the 20th century.
