All the Italian girls I knew did that funny thing with their tongue ...

I think the biggest problem is that so many Italian and Spanish words have similar character groupings involved, so the pronounciation get sortof corrupted to be a mash of both. I suspect this was because of the Italian/Puerto Rican influence in NYC.

I can't fault the way she says things - sounds like the Italians I met in Italy, and like the ones we have in Australia.

I have, on occasion, used Good Eats as a sort of video cookbook. I just tivo/pause through the episode while cooking dinner.

Haven't been disappointed yet.

Alton Brown appeals to my nerdy/technical/detailed personality.

You're right about Mario. You gotta trust that a guy that big is makin' some killer food.

There is a TV chef in Australia called Iain "Huey" Hewitson, and he says "Never trust a skinny cook". I trust Mario ... but could never trust Bobby Flay.

AB is a god, and not really a chef (despite graduating from the New England Culinary Institute), and since he treats food as science, you know he has to be trusted.

Being from that neck of the woods (Montpelier, VT). I've eaten at the NECI resturants. Hell, NECI trained chefs catered my wedding reception. they make some great food.

I love "Good Eats", Molto Mario, Unwrapped, and I sometimes watch "Road Tasted" to see where they go.

Rachael Ray is a fine piece of work. I can stare at her forever, but, I don't really like watching her show, for the content that is.

Another show I like to watch is "Starvin with lou" at www.starvinwithlouis.com. He is awsome and makes a feast out of nothing. They too however, have a hard time putting more episodes out.

Yes I dont know...Its like every other word except for the ones of Italian origin she pronounces with the most American accent but then puts an Italian accent on the Italian ones. It just pisses me off. Haha. Its kind of like the woman at the Mexican restaurant who asks for no sour cream but later proceeds to ask for a side of sour cream.

Just want to slap a *****...

Oh my God, I know.

I don't really watch any shows in particular, but I will stop on the Food Network from time to time and watch for awhile. Usually Emeril and Iron Chef. OK, and the occasional Rachel Ray too.

Anyone catch that special Iron Chef last night with Rachel Ray?

Just to kick the crass level up another notch. I'd love to have my own private IRON CHEF with Giada and Rachael. Today' secret ingredient: "A Masher Sandwich!"

BAM!
