I also did some research and found similar things ( not wikipedia though) - Anon did help!

Lyme disease doesn't affect your judgement and your opinions.

Having meningoencephalitis, and myocarditis (which MAY occur) doesn't dignify your actions.

Sure that was a while ago, but in order for her to be accepted by us, and for REV3 to keep our respect, they either need to fire her or give her a behind the camera job.

She was just very bad.

Irene, if you're reading this, and you're in tears, feel free to explain your ignorance. Because I doubt you've changed your mind.

I know for a fact that Irene isn't a homophobe. The Real World spins things however they think will get them better ratings via "drama." And, anyway, aren't these posts supposed to be for critiquing THIS show? If she makes some outrageous anti-gay comments on Social Brew, then by all means go ahead and bash her, but until then (and i promise you "then" won't happen), give her a break and let her start the show with a clean slate.

The program itself seems interesting enough, and any kinks can be worked out with the help of some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

The main kink seems to be that the show exists in the first place.

Talking

Haven't watched the show yet (downloading it now). Just wanted to say though that as far as I remember all she did on the Real World (pre-slap) was say that the Stephen was 'a homosexual' to his face. It had been established prior to the incident that dude claimed not to be gay, despite having mannerisms that would set off even a broken gaydar and hanging with a mostly gay social group. Nobody on the show would question his sexuality to his face since he made such a big deal about definitely being straight (my guess was that he hadn't come out to his family and didn't want to do so on national TV).

Irene just came out with it and told him that he was gay, on camera and in front of everyone because he was being a big jerk to her at the time. She did it knowing that his closeted sexuality was his hot button. A lot of people intentionally go for the open emotional wounds when arguing. I don't see what she did as homophobic in the least. And, for what its, worth Stephen is now out of the closet and apparently engaged... here's a link to a video where he has nothing but good things to say about Irene.

There's drama towards the end of the video but it was produced by empTV so what do you expect...

does the whole cast go on these social searches?Could I be her friend?or how about I be her first groopie. I'd like to go to those parties. I don't stay out late, but I have on the early party. An that imeem ceo....is he available. He seemed nice and I'd take imeem if he'd talk to me!
Where are the dog lovers. amd where is the food, I like to snack as part of my internet experience.. Add some information on brews and snacks for techy's. I'm tired. I'm a day techy...that night stuff is just to in the dark and later than by bedroom.
Careful Irene, you have a classrroom ful of guys ready to learn techy information just to impress you! I'm upgrading this piece of archived plastic and will be moving into the darkside of newbus soom. Will you cover game sites, new games, games which guarantee teachers and parents can't understand?...Are there games for the maturing nicelly? all for now,,, Loved the section on netiquette. I'm trying to get the natives to trcognize that e-mail communicatuin is a powerful too.

I'm not a huge fan of her. A few social networking accounts, a Mac, and a Michael Jackson hair-do doesn't qualify you to run a tech show for geeks.

Pass it off to someone else, please. Sarah would do a great job.

Irene has been involved in rather geeky things for quite some time: http://www.nooneslistening.org/

Geekiness goes beyond technical know-how *insert geek/nerd debate here* but regardless of that, does one need to be a geek to do a show about geeky things? Most people in television aren't into what they report on, the fact that Irene has consistently been into geeky reporting over the years adds credibility imho.

As to her hair, I think it is cute and sproingy.
