Why? Because with some time and experience you might make something that's better than what's out there.

It's my belief that this is why home distillation is illegal. Don't give me the whole "It's a fire hazard" thing, because then if that were the case, we shouldn't be allowed to operate stoves, use propane grills, or flambe anything.

And also, Julia, you should definitely do more episodes. Although you're no Dave Randolph (and no one could be him, but him, anyway), I'm sure you've got a lot of stuff packed away in that brain of yours that you can impart to us. No, it's called an air lock. A bubbler is for smoking weed.

Also, be careful when using apple based products. It will corrode copper and probably other metals, and that's probably not good for you.

Funny, on the Good Eats episode where they make beer, they call it a bubbler, whereas the thing you smoke weed out of is a bong. An airlock is what they use on submarines and spaceships.

There is a device to smoke out of called a bubbler and it's different from a bong. However, it wouldn't surprise me if that name is used to refer to a few different devices.
