I'm always giving my brother who wants to be a writer a hard time because it sometimes won't be very secure. I've read some of his work and he really is great. I don't know what's best for him, only he does... I'll let him do what he loves and support him at it...

Exactly. Just do what I do - Smile and nod at the family and then when you're not around them do whatever the fuck you feel like.

I had an epiphany this year and it's still growing - "I'm 21 and I can do whatever the fuck I want." I know you're older than me... (friggin ancient even ) but same deal applies to you.

If it did, I'd never go back to the rat race and would happily make all we need designing. Right now. Not in the future, but right NOW, when we need the money. The thought of going back to work for someone else literally makes me feel sick, but I have to. It makes me miserable.

Actually, it does. If you do what you love and what your good at, somebody will pay you to do it. It's just that simple. Picking a vocation out of pure compensatory potential is a short trip to misery.

If you don't have the means to do what you love, bust your ass to get to that goal. That's what I'm doing. Thankfully, I don't have to work right now. I've tried working, and I just hate office politics too much.

You'll find politics where where you go. However, politics are easier to deal with you think the job isn't bullshit.
