Anyone living near there can check if the card is still there? Because it would be awesome if it's still there.

I would be very surprised if that card was still there.

Sounds like Brian planted a geocache to me. (See http://www.geocaching.com/ for details on what Geocaching is...but it's basically using GPS coordinates and billion-dollar satellites to find Tupperware containers in the woods with a logbook and Happy Meal toys inside.)
What you COULD do is plant the card in a geocache of your own (so that you don't need to fly out to Denver). Then meet up with a friend on the weekend to go geocaching. While stopping for coffee or whatever on the way, do the card trick. Force that card on them. Then try to pick their card, but get it wrong. "Oh well... Maybe it will come to me later." Then do a few geocaches. At the third or fourth (depending on how complicated they are and how fast you find them), go to the one where you planted the card. Pretend you've never been to this cache before. Re-enact your earlier search for it, but let them find it and open it. When they pull out the card, ask "Is that your card?" Obviously, you'll need two decks of cards since you need to pull the forced card out of one and plant it ahead of time. I have a GPS, but haven't been geocaching in a while. I'll have to do this at some point.

No, it's what I heard from people that said they went to try and find it, and said they found that. I didn't know who they were but they seemed pissed...
