Build Your Own NAS
A Badass Firewall From A Junk PC Asterisk MythTV All great projects. All fun to build, play with and use. But why must they all reside on different computers? Could a beefy server be built to house all, or at least some of these? Motion is a linux based program that allows you to setup your own web cam security system. Why couldn't this run on the same box as MythTV or your NAS? Do these programs require the use of a dedicated server? |

Three of them, yes, they could run in a box together. But at least in my house, one will always be stand-alone, and that's the firewall. I want the firewall box focusing all its energies on security, not this, that, and the other, along with security when it has time.
