Default User Submission: Human Blockhead & More...

Hey Scam Schoolers,

I'm somewhat new to the forums, I originally created this account for discussion on the Diggnation thread. However, I've been steadily keeping up to date with Scam School podcasts.

My initial feelings on Scam School was somewhat dislike. I didn't like that a show was introducing the handling methods of certain magic tricks. But then I noticed most of these aren't entirely considered magic, anyway I'm not a magician so I don't have much say in this matter.

I noticed on a recent episode of Martin Sgt's "Internet Superstar" that Brian was planning on introducing the Human Blockhead routine on Scam School. I'd thought I'd share my take on the trick:

Human Blockhead

I'm not sure if this will show up. I've also done a few other tricks that aren't really magic.

Dice Stacking

and my tribute to Penn & Teller's Invisible Thread:

Sorry if this thread is inappropriately submitted but I didn't see any other place to put this.

Thanks, I used to be able to do it with 5 dice but it's been a while. I haven't had much practice. It's a nice little trick, youtube is probably littered with the methods or the handling of it.

I'm not trying to offend you or anything, but you need a little practice. The human blockhead was a bit bad when you were putting it in, but you'll get used to it, if you just started... I ain't very good at it yet, but i can put it in pretty easily, I need to practice presentation... When I upload my video of it, I didn't have a hammer at the time so I just stuck it in.

Anyways, the dice stacking is one that I can talk about, and one that I've done for a while now. Your first mistake is that your using a glass table. Cups tend to "stick" to the table when you slide it across, when that happens it shakes your dice and you fail. Also, using 4+ dice really helps the effect. Only 3 dice, people can learn fast off. And it would be good to learn downstacking. That's used for a lot of tricks and its a very good thing to learn.

Just my input... for whatever its worth.

I'm perfectly fine with criticism, All part of the open forum of discussion. I agree that my human blockhead probably wasn't great. I was moving the nail a bit at the beginning so as to not block the view. But good points and well taken. Since you know the routine, you know that there's really no pain involved. It's merely me trying to give off that impression.

As to the dice stacking, I'm definitely out of practice. I haven't done that in a while and it shows. The table surface wasn't glass though it was marble and surface wise that was probably the only thing I had close to something that wasn't carpet or cloth. But there's no doubt the more dice the better.

Thanks for the input.
