Despite the relative simple theory in distillation that was a pretty fun episode, helped no doubt by Julia's presence (she's great, hope to see her back again soon) and Patrick's sense of humour.

as for other country's policies on distilling... in australia i'm pretty sure you can own certain elements of the gear...if not all of it....but actually distilling some spirits is illegal...cider may fall in a grey area...or be lumped in with beer, with its fine to brew.
