It seems weird to me that there are people who haven't heard of K-OS. He has had a few top 40 songs here in Canada. Far from "out there". The whole list felt a bit that way for me, but that's because I'm from Canada. It's always weird to know what is Canadian pop culture and what is North American pop culture. Great list, though! Most of them (with the exception of MSTRKRFT who I just don't like) haed graced my iPod at some point or another. Lot of talent up north.

Edit: Yeah. Looked into it. K-OS has had 4 top 40 hits, and 6 top 100.

YES to Mstrkrft getting #3! Gotta agree about Peaches as well though the odd song slipped into a DJ's set, particularly soulwax, is great!

Heather I know you're a big Muse fan so if you get the chance to see them play live outdoors for their next tour in the US then you might catch them using lasers. I was at the Dublin and V Festival gigs this summer (yes I know, bit of a Muse nerd) and the lasers for their shows are fantastic. They used them during Deadstar and Take a Bow and they look phenomenal!

Again great show, new format is ace.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, $165 for one pair of shoes?

(I try not ever to spend more than $40 for dress/work shoes and $50 for sneakers, but I'll admit that it's absolutely the least girly thing about me ... I guess I'll have to make up for it by baking brownies ... lots and lots of delicious brownies )

I didn't think Heather would go for Peaches at all. I really like Electroclash and Peaches is definitely the most influencial in that genre. My favourite tracks are "Operate" and "Tent In Your Pants". Some of the songs are hilarious, like "Kick It", Iggy Pop pronounces "thatch" as "thotch".

"Hurts so good I got a soregasm" - Peaches, Tent In Your Pants

My thoughts on this episode can be summed up by my post in the Canadian Bands thread. Sorry, but no mention of the Hip has overruled anything positive about this episode. How can you neglect the best band of all time?

I'm glad you picked Tegan and Sara for your list of canadian bands. Their the first band you've mentioned that I listen to/can tolerate listening too.

I think you missed some other good canadian bands.

One in specific I wanted to mention is the weakerthans.

Another notch on your belts. Great show.

What was up with Sarah's glam make-over? It was, er, hotness.

"apocalyptic post-rock electronica synth punk" ...wtf

Moujan giving tongue!? woah.

Agreeing about the Weakerthans, they're rad.
