Default Multiple Network Adapters.

Hey, I've got two internet connections, and two internet adapters (yeah
What I'd like to know is how I could use both at the same time...
eg: Download torrents on one, and browse on the other.

Using vista, so a windows explanation would be nice

presumably you have two routers. just set the adapters to use different gateways and bind the applications to different network adapters.

Mmhmmm... thats what I want to do, they are already having different gateways etc, (one is through a proxy infact) so thats not a problem. Binding the apps to different network adapters is something i need to learn.

Could you drop a link / guide to it?

It's application independent.

Something like a Netgear FVS124G will allow load balancing between two Internet links. You can aggregate the two links, so that the PC's connected to the router just sees one faster Internet link.

Eh? So can I appoint one adapter to some applications and another to some other applications? And how's that to be done?

Only if the application allows you to.

There is another way to do it by modifying the routing table on your computer, but you need to know the destination IP address in order for this to be done.

I'm curious is what is the point of it? Unless you're at a university or someplace where they meter bandwidth according to MAC address, just get 1 network card. Do you have an internet connection that exceeds the specification of 100Mbps/1Gbps? If you don't, just set a limit on your torrent speeds.

The point is that you should be able to bind a particular program to a particular network card which in turn binds it to a particular internet connection if you have more than one and they are not load balanced.
