I may be moving to not being in the target audience, but I found this episode too boring to watch. I put up with watching for 8 minutes and then just got tired of waiting for something new, informative, or interesting.

boxee is still in the alpha stages and it's core code is from XBMC. Since XBMC is an active Open Source project, everything is update to date and features are constantly getting added. XBMC allows you to do alot more customization than boxee plus it runs on almost every platform (Mac, Windows, Linux, Apple TV, Xbox, and Live CD/USB). I'm sure any bittorent or mulit media user will like XBMC cause it plays almost any format you through at it.

It may be (somewhat) available, but it is also most definitely not ready for prime time. Let's start with all the fields that want keyboard input but won't actually accept keyboard input.

I know Rodger said to be nice in the forum's but......

When did Systm become Tekzilla, I had a mild moment of euphoria when Dave came back and actually did something electronic, and for that matter interesting. But this whole series of basically software reviews has become tedious.

If Rodger had ripped apart his xbox and install a mod chip(that Dave had built from scratch) for our entertainment, then we'd have a episode, I say bring back the intern.

Mike.

Hey Roger,

You should do a current review of XBMC. I know Boxee is in Alpha but XBMC is 10x what Boxee is at present. Using Navi X plugin or script in XBMC I watch all my podcasts like Tekzilla & Systm. I am testing the Windows Alpha of Boxee at present & they just sent me there latest Windows release: version 0.9.7.4825. Its still buggy and locks up alot. I know it has this community share thing but its not something I care to use. Im also aware that the code from Boxee is based on XBMC but I think a current review would be a great Video Jukebox Part 3. Just my humble opinion.

Regards,
