A time like this can only happen on one planet Earth. Why? Well, because only on planet Earth would a species base its numerical system by a factor of 10 that is tied to the rotation of its planet on its axis (and around its sun). Although every individual number has a uniqueness quantification, only a species like us humans would find the existential irony of 1,234,567,890 seconds.
What does this all really mean? It means that in Unix time, which began on January 1, 1970, exactly 1,234,567,890 seconds had passed on February 13, 2009 UTC. A website, http://www.1234567890day.com, was created specifically to celebrate the momentous occasion. In it, various locations were identified through which to join in for some geek debauchery. One of those locations was a bar a mere mile or so away from the Revision3 Headquarters. This video is an account of the experience. Watch now!

For some reason I really liked the editing of this clip. Usually it all is in the background, but for this one I noticed and was impressed.

Celebrating, but nobody around me cared.
