oh, i miss the mornings when the radio was the most important piece of technology in the house, fine tuning that static crackle waiting through each miserable song to the good stuff . . . school closings . . . looking at your younger brothers like you were waiting to confirm your winning lottery ticket. There's not much that compare with that immediate wave of excitement when the DJ muttered the name of your school being closed because of snow . . . especially when you were usually the only school to stay open because your bus drivers were like the ice truckers of alaska

Snow day? Pfffft.

I work from home. I get no stinkin' snow day

University is closed this morning until 10:00, but my wife doesn't teach on Mondays, and her only meeting is a conference call this afternoon, so she is working from home today as well.

Yeah, I'm not counting on any Snow Days in Puerto Rico anytime soon. I've never actually seen now up-close for that matter...

We Canadians, especially in a VERY snowy part of Canada, barely ever miss school because of snow. In fact, over my school career I missed more days because it was too cold than because of the snow. There are few things worse than the feeling you experience when you step outside into -40 weather and think "holy crap this is effing cold" and then you step out into the wind. A little part of you dies inside on days like that.

The schools here on PEI close A LOT... during this past February a least once a week, sometimes twice a week. It was nuts.

The university never closes though. It is freezing rain now and I am stuck at school.
Pfft.

We had snow last night too. Roads were pretty clear so I made the trek into work. I might not tomorrow as it's all supposed to freeze tonight so it will be mostly Ice on the roads not snow.

Last time it snowed and I stayed home from work it was on a tuesday and the WoW servers were down most of the day for a big patch update. That normally happens to me so I feel your pain haha.
