Was that around the same time you checked up on Spider-Man 3?

Then again, I can't even read it anymore because Ross' inability to present any sort of minute panel to panel storytelling just makes me kind of not care what's going on until a big splash page comes up. Then I go "Ooo, purty" and just enjoy the spectacle for a bit.
I agree with most of what you say. I have read it multiple times now. Great story, but it just doesn't click for me. Though I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of Alex Ross' work. I appreciate it, I know its good stuff. Just that it doesn't do too much for me.

@TNC You're still confusing cultural relevance for literary greatness. And that movie was horrible.

@Star Wars -- The significance of Star Wars was never that they were great films, but that they brought the sci-fi culture to the forefront of pop culture for a while.

@KC I thought that "Kingdom Come is overrated" was a consensus by now.

I think Optimus Prime is lame.

Ouch. Low blow.

But Spider-Man 3 was good, too. (Haven't we had this discussion before? It's like the last episode of Seinfeld.)

Not only that, but the original Transformers cartoon is pretty much unwatchable.

Beast Wars was far and away my favorite Transformers cartoon. And I absolutely have no interest in watching Transformers 2 when it comes out. Only reason I watched the first one was because my friend had the DVD and insisted on me watching it.

I saw "Transformers" once and have never gone back for a second viewing. It should have been called "The People Who Hang Out With the Transformers".

I mean, I'm not saying that a movie about giant talking robots that turn into cars needs to be Shakespearean drama (that one was for you, Champ), but it would have been nice if the giant talking robots that turn into cars were actually in the movie about the giant talking robots that turn into cars.

Edit: BTW, "Darkwing Duck" was the BEST show of the "Disney Afternoon" era.

You are a god damned blasphemer! Duck Tales was then, is now, and ever shall be the only one of those shows worth a damn. That and maybe Gummi Bears, but Duck Tales is the undisputed KING!
