So I decided to practice with cotton swaps on the nose trick. I was soon able to get the whole cotton swap in. I thought I could simultaneously gross out a couple of friends, and win free beer, by telling them that I bet them that I could place both ends of a single cotton swap into the same nostril at the same time, without bending or breaking the cotton swab. In the middle of practicing, I got a phone call, so I left the swap in while I answered the phone. The swap end swelled up, and it hurt like none other to pull it out. I was afraid I was going to have to go to the hospital for a couple of minutes. Anyway, I suggest steering clear of things that might expand in moisture, or otherwise fall apart inside your nasal cavities.

Yes! Important safety announcement: nobody do this, um...ever?

good comment, though!

Shoving a nail in your nose is easy. I was talking to my brother about it and he basically called me an idiot for doing it hah

As much as I appreciate people trying to come up with original tricks, this one is sorta obvious. Just rearranging the cards in front of someone(even if you shuffle at the end) is kind of a long set up for a sorta small pay off, too.

If you want a sort of similar trick that I think works a bit better, check out the card knowledge trick(on the forums), which depends on the same idea of a prearranged deck allowing you to predict card positions, but it's a but more complicated so it's not as obvious.

i have 3 question
1. can i use any nail or would u recommend washing it and/or filing or sanding down the point?
2. can i use a nail more than once?
3. should i use a smooth nail or can i use one of those nails with the big spirals on it(not a screw)?

If you have to ask those questions, I suggest you steer clear of any trick that could possibly be physically dangerous!

dude did the blockhead on letterman last night for stupid human tricks, he used a fork, then with the fork sticking out of his nose swirled spagetti on to it, then his wife ate the spagehiti from it still in his nose. Fun "twist" on it.
