Question best (free) avi file to dvd?

I am new the the mac OS X and I am having trouble finding the best/free software to burn a DVD from a .AVI file type. I have see a bunch of programs that have the free trial but there free trial leaves a big water mark in the middle of the DVD. So does anyone know a program that would be free and if there is none that is free what one is the best at doing this?

Thank you all for the help.

Can't guarantee it is the best, but it is free ...

Your copy of OSX should have come with iLife. Between iMovie and iDVD you have the tools you need ... iMovie to edit the file, iDVD to create/burn the DVD.

Thread locked.

It has become a magnet for spam from a certain company that just doesn't get that their applications suck and don't perform as advertised.
