Default Top Gear Withdrawal?

Check out an old flick with Steve McQueen called "Le Mans"

top gear is one of the best shows ever, great laugh reminds me of 1up yours actually. i personaly don't care about cars as long as it handles well and looks nice.

and Jeremy Clarkson looks like garnet, richard is LIKE shane, james looks like John and both are british.

Grand Prix - 1966

Give Grand Prix a look as well. Between the two, I personally prefer it to LeMans, there is more of a story, and certainly a bit more variation in the cars, sounds, and emotions involved. Both are classics among car lovers, and its very sad to see how racing/automotive films have evolved over the years.

The only other real options are:
  • On Any Sunday
  • Bullitt
  • Days of Thunder
  • Vanishing Point
  • Gone in 60 Seconds (the origional)
  • The Italian Job (the origional)

Which means you’re going to have to spend the night listening to a hundred wizened ramblers bouncing around on the only pole in all of tenting that’s still upright. - Jeremy Clarkson on Camping

Oh man! Le Mans gives me goosebumps... Amazing classic movie.

if you guys haven't watch it yet make sure you see

"Truth in 24"

Its about Audi's (7th in 8 years?? I believe) victory in the Le Mans race. GREAT filming... heck they even bring up Steve McQueen and Le Mans!

I really wish we could see Top Gear test lap the 2-Eleven but since its not "street-legal" just won't happen... I think it could beat up the R500 on the lap time!

I found watching him shovel coal strangely rewarding.

Yeah, seeing him shovel coal was fun . . . but I got a huge kick out of Hammond on the bike . . . when he was trying to start it my brother lost it and said "He's so small he looks like a 10 year old trying to steal a motorcycle" and then when he was narrating his own adventure in his helmet it was my turn to lose it cause I do that same thing in my helmet sometimes when I'm on the back of my Vmax . . .

God, did I miss this show!

Tomorrow should be another excellent episode! I was so happy to see the Lotus Evora on the first episode and to see Jeremy really give it credit!! It looks so beautiful! Too heavy for my taste but I'd rock it as a secondary vehicle for sure!

I just watched Le Mans again last week! The way the movie is cut is beautiful for a driver. I'd like to know how a movie person would feel about the editing and filming... I could see people saying they don't enjoy the movie at all if they aren't into the realness about Le Mans.
