Default Episode 7: Bruno [Discussion]

Watch here

Holy hell was I pissed off at this episode. Wasn't the whole point of Digg Dialogg that the users choose questions and the most dugg ones will be asked from the interviewees without any censorship? I remember Kevin emphasizing that last part quite a few times in earlier episodes.

"Rather than editors or journalists, the Digg community decides the most popular questions to be posed in the interview."

I don't really have a problem with a Dialogg which is clearly an ad for a movie (as long as the ep itself is funny and enjoyable), but the fact that Brüno clearly knew all the questions beforehand and had his answers ready really took the edge off the interview.

Default Agreed

You took the words out of my mouth. The way they have gone about picking and choosing the questions they ask completely defeats the purpose of voting questions up... instead of reading the questions with 1000+ diggs they, they read questions with 200 diggs... come on! Absolutely disgusting...

I would really love an explanation why they said "fuck you" to the entire digg community and it's democratic system...

This is a joke episode, people, not an actual one. The questions they selected is understandable.

Default Joke?

How was this a joke episode? What does that mean? Just because it was with an actor in character and not a politician doesn't mean they shouldn't follow the shows format. I'm all for having funny episodes like this, but don't ignore what the users have voted for.

Crap episode, i really hope that host doesn't do any more of them.. would have been funnier with Alex or Kevin.

Oh and who ever the host is.. Thanks for asking the most popular dugg questions...... NOT..

I agree w/ you guys wtf why weren't the top questions asked. And i'm sorry but the host of digg reel was terrible. He seemed really uncomfortable doing the interview. No followup questions and he didn't even play along w/ Bruno. Kevin Rose or Jay should have done the interview.

Worst Digg Dialogue ever.

Not sure why some of you think he knew the questions beforehand. It seemed like he was making stuff on the fly.

Well, we all know that he read the most dugg questions and refused to answer some of them, who OK'd the questions which WERE asked, his agent? Also, notice how quickly he answers every single one of them, never pauses to think

EDIT: two more things. What was up with the Harry Potter question that noone even submitted or dugg? At first I thought it was yet another ad (it still coud be), but HP6 is distributed by Warner Bros and Brüno by Universal, so I really don't know about that.

Also, will we ever be able to comment on the Dialogg on the same page?

I was really looking forward to this episode. Like, really, really.

But that was just crap. I love Andrew on The Digg Reel, his confidence and humour is really a breath of fresh air and extremely entertaining to watch, but in the company of a major star, much like the Mythbusters episode a few weeks ago - he shut down and looked exactly like I'd look in that situation, star struck and extremely nervous.

The whole idea of Digg was to allow the community to ask the questions per way of the community vote - so the fact that random questions were plucked at the discretion of staff coupled with the fact Brüno obviously heard them prior to the interview made me shudder after every minute.

Big fail, guys. Big fail.

I have to agree with the comments here, I was really looking forward to this Digg Dialogg, and came away disappointed. Whats the point if you're just going to pick and choose questions regardless of the # of diggs.

So much for giving the power back to the community.

I think Andrew did a decent job w/ the material he had... he played into Bruno's gay/flirting character... Bruno/Cohen is too used to doing an "ambush interview" and trying to shock the interviewer. Of course AB knows whats up and so... no ambush.. Cohen/Bruno missed the boat by still trying the shock/ambush style when coulda gone the "over-the-top Impressario" route.
Was a "Meh"... coulda been better (if Cohen decided to break outta character and answer some honest questions)... but I think they decided together to keep in personae.. thats why the questions were setups/softballs.
Only found it because was on a bit torrent site I visit regularly, otherwise.... pooor job advertising
