Exclamation Web Site Bug Reports Thread

As you can clearly see, we've made some not so subtle changes to our web site. With such a dramatic change, I am sure that there are some bugs that we might have missed during testing. We would really appreciate it if you guys and gals let us know as you uncover them.

When reporting a bug, please include the at least the following:

1. Operating System
2. Web Browser
3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any
4. What settings you have made to the browser
5. Flash version if it is a player problem
6. What you were doing when the problem occurred
7. Steps to reproduce the problem.

Thanks.

I like the new design. I like the forum changes, too. Especially the brighter color font for the default text (although changing the color doesn't seem to work anymore).

However, it still crashes Firefox 3 when I go to Tekzilla's episode 88 page. Click here for more details.

1. Operating System

WinXP SP2 (all critical updates installed)

2. Web Browser

Firefox v3.0.10

3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any

Many, but doubtful the problem since Dailies continue to work fine.

4. What settings you have made to the browser

Again, Dailies work fine.

5. Flash version if it is a player problem

Flash v10.0.22.87 (latest version as of today)

6. What you were doing when the problem occurred

Just waiting for the video to start playing.

7. Steps to reproduce the problem

a) From the main page, hover the mouse over the "Shows" drop-down box at the top.

b) Select "Tekzilla" from the list.

c) On the resulting page, click the green "Watch Now" button.

d) Crash.

****

BTW, I did NOT start two topics in this forum. The two threads currently shown in here; one was the topic starter, the other was a reply to it. Somehow they were split into two separate threads.

I keep receiving the following error when I browse the Rev3 forums at work (IE 7.0.6001.18000; running on Windows Vista -- I use Firefox at home.)
Internet Explorer cannot open Internet site:
http://revision3.com/forum/... <html for the non-loading page>

Operation aborted.
The "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage" screen then pops up. If I click the back button, the page displays normally (although occasionally repeating the error noted above).

It's more of a pain than anything else, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

goes to
http://revision3.com/filmriot-cast
(which doesn't make sense, and also doesn't exist)

Where did you see that link, and how long ago? I don't see any links like that anywhere.

I saw it whenever I posted. It appears to be gone, now.

There was a new page added for a Film Riot cast with a similar URL recently:

http://revision3.com/filmriot/filmriot-cast

It was probably a fluke related to that. Let me know if it pops up again.

Default The shows just aren't loading....

Umm, just wondering if this is a problem for anyone else? As of last night and tonight (7/22/09 & 7/23/09) no of the rev3 shows are loading for me. I click play and the green loading dots just blink for hours. Two days ago I watched a few TRS eposides in HD with no problems. Anyway, thanks.

1. XP sp3
2.Firefox 3.5.1
3. adblock, autopager, zoomer
4.flash 10,0,22,87
5. what i was doing, trying to watch some shows
6. reoccur, click play

Default shows refuse to load

as of 7/23/09 i can no longer load any revision3 videos.
like bdsmith1981, it seems to load forever with the green dots. there also seems to be something effecting my mouse pointer, causing it to flicker while the video is loading.
it should also be noted that all other flash websites work flawlessly. I tried reinstalling flash by first uninstalling with the adobe tool and reinstalling after a cold boot, but to no avail.

1. Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit sp2
2. Web Browser: Firefox 3.5.1
3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any: adblock plus 1.1, copy link text 1.3.2, foxtab 1.2, google redesigned 0.3, google preview 3.22, ietab 1.5, personal menu 4.2, stylish 1.0.5, tabscope 0.2.2.11, tabsopenrelative 0.4, weave 0.4.0

4. What settings you have made to the browser: none?
5. Flash version if it is a player problem: 10.0.22.87
6. What you were doing when the problem occurred: trying to watch a video on Tekzilla
7. Steps to reproduce the problem: open any page with a video player on it, and it fails to load. mouse flickers for 10-20 seconds at first, then goes back to normal.

my machine is a hp xw6200 workstation with dual 3.4xeon processors with hyper-threading enabled , 3 gig of ram, sound blaster x-treme gamer sound card, zotac 8800gt, linksys wmp54g wireless adapter. all with the latest drivers, and windows updates.

it might also be worth noting that the flash slideshow at http://revision3.com/ does still work for me

It sounds like it may simply be a bandwidth issue... those true HD streams use up a lot of resources, and there's not really a way around that. Have you tried switching back to the normal "high quality" streams instead of the full-HD stream? How do those run?
