Default Batman Family vs. Superman Family

I need to cut out some books for money reasons. My best idea was to either cut out the Batman family books or Superman Family books. If you were faced with that decision what would you choose?

Well, I think it would depend more on your personal preferences and which interests you more. both books are in the midst of major status quo changes. Whichever one appeals to you more is the one you keep.

I actually don't read either of these "families" of books at the moment, but i am jumping into Batman this week with batman and Robin #1, and will be picking up all th Bat books with all these relaunches and stuff. Superman as a character never really interested me all that much. I get a taste of him in JLA and that is enough for me. (Although he seems to be vanishing from that book, si I guess i will be Superman-less.)

If you enjoy both equally and money is the main reason for doing it, then drop Batman, as there are more Bat books than Superman books.

I don't really like this plan, but if I had to cut one family of books it'd be the Batman books. I love Superman, especially these days. New Krypton is spectacular.

I may not be the best person to ask as I don't read Superman or any related books, but I'd take the Batbooks in a heartbeat. I've heard what Rucka is doing on Action Comics is spectacular, though.

Forget both of them and pick up the trades of the storylines that ultimately turn out good!

Sorry, I'm a trade/hardcover only guy...

It really does come to personal preference and just how many of each family's books you are buying. I started off buying 3 out of 4 of the Superman books, now I'm just picking up World of New Krypton because I had to cut my pull list. From the Bat family, I'm just getting Batman and Robin, and quite possibly Detective.

I never liked the idea of feeling compelled to pick up every single book from a certain family. Just pick and choose.

That being said, if you want to cut out more books, cut the Bat books. What are they going to be? 8 of them I think? Compare that to 4 Superman books, 5 when Secret Origins hits late this year. Save some skrilla that way.

Well, there'd be plenty of books I'd cut before getting into either family of Bats or Supes now, because both families have really great books going on right now. If forced to choose, I'd lose Superman over Batman without question. Morrison and Quietly on Batman and Robin could be the greatest thing in comics now, period and that's only from the first issue I've read. Also, Rucka on Detective is sure to be stellar, and Dini and Winick are no slouches when it comes to the Bat family either. Really looking forward to this era of Bat books.
