I started reading Cable and X-force during the Messiah War and now am not sure if I should continue reading either of them after the event is over. I haven't read either of the series' previously. If I continue reading, which should I keep? I really liked the current story but I have a huge list of ongoing titles and I want to only keep getting stuff I know I'll like.

I really enjoy X-Force. Admittedly, X-Factor is my favorite X-book, but X-Force is a fun read. I love to see the interaction between the characters and Wolverine's struggles as leader. We also see a more human side of Wolverine, which I find interesting. I'm not that big a fan of Cable but the current series is pretty good. I love the art and seeing Cable on the run rather than the bad ass is nice. If I had to choose, I would go with X-Force.

I started both titles with Messiah complex and will probably continue them. Not a big fan of the art in X-Force but the storys have been nice and bloody so far

I'd keep X-Force. The art is better than Cable's (Olivetti's anatomy is all fucked up) and I find the stories to be more interesting. However, I feel like Cable will probably be a more important book to the ongoing X-saga since it features Hope.

If I had to choose I think I would go with Cable but I can't really give a good reason why other than I like Cable and really do not care about X Force with the except for Archangel.

I, for one, honestly don't know how anyone either pays for X-Force or enjoys it. It seems like everything that everyone should hate in comics, unless they're just that much of a continuity junkie. But, again, that's just me.

Well generally what is X-force about in the current series?

Cable no. Too linear. X-Force yes.

It's fallout from the Messiah Complex in which the first new mutant baby was born since M-Day. Cable takes charge of protecting said baby against Bishop who basically thinks the child will eventually usher in the end of mutantkind. Throw in some b-characters like Domino, Stryfe, and Vanisher along with a future version of the merc with a mouth aaaannnd your pretty much caught up to speed.

Thankfully, after Messiah War, the art duties on X-Force reverts back to Mike Choi, who is a much better artist than the guy who's doing the book in the crossover. It's a completely different and more cleaner style, which actually coveys the violence better, IMO. The artist on Cable is staying around, I think.
But yeah, X-Force had it's own story arc going on which they were right in the middle of before they were more or less shoved into the future. It will be interesting to see what has occured while they were away.
