I know this is super late compared to the cancel date but I figured I would throw it in here.

I really miss Systm. It was the only show that was a "can't miss it" type other than Diggnation.

I watch TekZilla and HDNation to kill time at work, but they are kinda lacking.

HD Nation is informational and fun, but not amazing most of the time.

TekZilla is 60% puff pieces of crappy e-mail questions. They of course have some that are valuable, but most are sad. Outside of the interview pieces it is just a bunch of the daily tips crammed together. Nothing that really gets me excited to watch.

If you watch the credits or pay attention to the shows casts/producers/PAs etc you see that the staff at Revision3 wear a lot of hats and work on a ton of shows. maybe that is why they had to choose a show to cut when they added more in-house content.

System was interesting to me too, And I did not even know it was part of revision3 or what what revision3 was. We are getting together a bunch of geeks to see what we can come up with. The internet community deserves better.

100th voter on the pole to vote YES!

Sorry of necroposting but I was also one who watched with regret the last episode of Systm. The cancellation was so abrubt that it seems like it's an issue at Revision3.

Yes.

I also know it isn't going to happen because Rev3 management has no interest in in something that's not frenetically hip. DIY? That's what Public Television is for.

I would wish that a creative show with content directed at what you and I could create with bits of wire, solder, and a few pieces of silicon would take the place of some of the mindless weirdness that passes for entertainment on Rev3. But that won't happen.

I like many of the hosts that are on some of the programming. I'm sure they are smart, thoughtful, creative, and know their subject matter. I've watched many of them starting with the old ZDNET days until now. Some have changed, for better or for worse, some have just become wearying.

I came back to see if anything had changed. It hasn't. Goodbye.

Default One more voice in the chorus...

Add my vote to bring this show back. I know R3 isn't just about tech, but Systm was one of the best DIY shows since the TechTv days. Like "This Old House" for tech, it obviously has loyal viewers if we are still calling for it's return.

I wish it weren't so, but I finally "get" what Rev3 is all about. It's about revenue. It's not about creativeness, only what passes for creativeness. With a couple of exceptions, and I think I'm being generous, Rev 3 exists to talk about what others have created.

Being self-creative is a very difficult thing. Talking about others' creativeness is easy. Making shows that ride on the creative energies of others carries the appearance of creativity, either by showing what others are doing or by commenting on what everybody already knows about what someone else has done, is fairly easy and generates cash flow.

The simple fact that a self-creative program like Systm was allowed to fail proves that point. It generated cash while it was on the 'net, but the requirements of being constantly original and doing things that someone else was NOT doing was an activity the Rev 3 was not willing to invest in, the talent of the hosts notwithstanding.

I liked Patrick, et al, on Systm. On Tekzilla, Patrick is less than compelling TV. His intelligence and creativeness are not being supported and exploited. With Rev 3 taking the easy road, his personality can be more easily utilized without any more investment than air time and thus we have Tekzilla and not a Systm.
