Having said that the thing I wanted to share was that in Japan someone has built a 60 foot tall Gundam Warrior... freakin awesome!!! Sure the Gundam game that was launched with the PS3 was total crap, but Gundams are such a great concept
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8139218.stm

why would a gundam be a great concept? a couple missiles and that thing would be billions of dollars of scrap metal.

We build machines to be efficient and useful. there is nothing efficient about the way a human moves so why would we try to replicate it and build giant robots. I think a voltron type of scenario is more realistic except they wouldn't join to make a giant human shaped robot they would join to make a bigger lion. The way cats move is very efficient and makes them the perfect model for a giant robot.

in short gundam = fail, voltron FTW

i reckon unless the technology was there to have gundams that could like shoot misslies and giganté missiles it would be point less. and they'd have to be super agile. like be able to dodge missiles or grab missiles and re-direct them or something.

and found a pretty sweet mash-up btw.
