Default AJ review

LOL. I was indeed holding the phone upside down during the intro. Yep, just making sure you're all paying attention . Thanks for watching and it's always great to get feedback on the show here and on Twitter, etc. Duly impressed by all the eagle eyes out there.

I know you gave it a "don't download" but still, the fact that you even considered giving the same network that is first to broadcast terrorist bombings and Americans having their heads chopped off money is mind baffling.

I thought that was FOX.

As far as I'm aware, the allegation that Al Jazeera have ever shown "Americans having their heads chopped off" is entirely false.

They do show a lot of 'Osama' videos, but that's primarily because they're the ones that get sent them first and they have a policy of encouraging free speech - even if it's something people don't want to see. That's not necessarily the right thing to do, but the perception that Al Jazeera somehow hates America and supports terrorists is entirely false. Try watching it sometime - it's actually pretty good.

Wouldn't have expected the knee jerk response from you ... Al Jazeera is the premier news source for what is happening in the middle east. It is far less filtered than CNN, not as heavily biased as FOX, and more current than BBC.

The fact they get the Al Quaeda and Taliban tapes first is just because they are the local news source. It does not make them the official network of terrorism.

The US does not have a global monopoly on reporting the news, and indeed the foreign perspective on world events is refreshing. It pisses me off that the only world news you see in the US is that which involves US citizens or interests abroad. To be fair, that is what the market wants to see, but it just serves to insulate you from world events and helps promote the world perception of Americans as a whole being ignorant.

I find Al-Jazeera English does a better job than any us based new channel like fox or cnn. They cover the world and what is happening instead of an hour fluff like cnn seems to do these days.
