Default Where do i need to go in NYC?

I'm going to be going to go to New York for a couple of days in a couple weeks. Are there any gaming meccas there? Like some badass arcade or an awesome shop or anything like that? Lemme know, thanks!

the Nintendo World Store in the Rockafeller plaza is kind of cool if you haven't been there before

I've stopped by the Nintendo World Store once and it's pretty cool to see. Mainly the displayed GameBoy's and NES's.

Other than that I've been hearing about this place called Video Games New York( http://www.videogamesnewyork.com/ind...page=page&id=8 ) looks like it has a lot of old games for sale and some new stuff..but apparently it's kind of expensive.

Also, there is Broadway City Arcade (http://broadwaycity.net/index.html).

Good Luck!

Video Games New York is a total trap. You're sure to find something rare and awesome there, and it's certainly twice what you should rationally spend. Don't be lured by its siren song.

A not too far south of there, though, is Chinatown Fair which features just about every arcade fighter cabinet you could want to play, along with a steady stream of the baddest mo-fos on the east coast to whup your behind in them: http://www.yelp.com/biz/chinatown-fa...rcade-new-york

Also recommended, down in Brooklyn is Barcade, which yes, is exactly what it sounds like, and they have sweet parties: http://www.barcadebrooklyn.com/

My favorite destination, though, is the aforementioned Nintendo World Store. Plenty of Wiis and DSes to play (though I do miss the four-player Gamecube terminals) and lots of rare or exclusive Nintendo goodies. Haw can you say no to a collection of Animal Crossing plush dolls?

the best thing I can recommend its finding the guy with the Gyro cart on the street corner of Rockefeller center, by far the best Gyro I have ever had!!

Oh, and go up the street to the Disney Store, while not exactly a comic book mecca, its a pretty cool 3 story display of Disney paraphernalia.
