I recently replaced an old pata dvd/cd drive with a sata. After doing this grub can no longer find the linux boot partition. What utility can I use to first locate the linux partition and then repair grub? Or can do quick fix in the bios?

Grab a linux boot CD. Ubuntu or gparted is probably easiest. You can run the Grub installer from the boot CD and point it at your hard drive.
This looks like pretty straight forward fix: http://microdotsagamedev.wordpress.c...r-grub-loader/ Googling "repair grub" will get you tons of howtos. |
