X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter is essentially a multiplayer only game.
The real series is X-Wing TIE Fighter(the best one) X-Wing Alliance Also, Wing Commander 1 and 2 were awesome back in the day. |

For space games that are more recent I loved Dead Space and Mass Effect.
But if I was going to say what my favorite space game was, I would have to admit to spending way too much time with Birth of the Federation. It is the only strategy game I really got into and I still have the urge to install it on my PC every once in a while. My fiance would always play as the Federation (goody two shoes...) and I would play as the Romulans. It was a pretty fun game set in the Star Trek universe, if you're into that. ![]() |

My favorite space game of all time was Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (and the expansion Alien Crossfire). It's basically Civ2 in space but the storyline, especially for a turn-based strategy game, was phenomenal. They really need to release it on Steam.

Noctis, A No Shooting, no "Game", just Exploration game. All the planets were randomly created and star charts are connected through online databases so you can name a system and everyone else will see it as such. Not for people who only play games with "Realistic" Graphics. Also Takes some getting used to and many of the planets are barren rock lands(just like real life). Once i found a place with tiny kangaroos and butterflies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noctis Galactic Arms Race, 2D(2.5D?) Top-Down Space shooter. Described as "Space Diablo." Based on Generation of guns by usage level. So guns you find are mutations of guns you use. Kinda like a fancy mutliplayer-capable version of Asteroids. http://gar.eecs.ucf.edu/ I have a thing for randomly generated content. |
