Kaiji watches Full Metal Alchemist, Nicholas does Soul Eater, Miley reads Crimson Hero, and Laura admits to actually liking Bleach. We'll take a sneak peek at what Bailey is doing in Japan and then the panel reviews Tower of Druaga: Aegis of Uruk.

Saw Druaga posted on Funimation's Youtube channel and passed it up because I'm generally into that kind of anime. Your guy's review made it tempting to check out but I think I'll stick with passing it up.
Like I said on the previous thread, Bleach dub is a huge no, no, no. Good voices in it (and some bad) but it's a miscast. Funimation also grabbed up Axis Powers Hetalia and being a huge fan of the web comic, manga, and anime, I look forward to hopefully seeing a review on that in later episodes or maybe in a third season--whenever it's dubbed. Well, I found it was an improvement from the first.
Kaiji I think is my favorite reviewer so far. Also a big surprise for me was Nick, I hated his first episode segment but I really enjoyed his presence on this episode. Thought, minus a few parts, they were mostly pretty serious with well articulated thoughts. While there was still some silliness in this episode, when you guys just got down in the nitty-gritty review parts I really enjoyed it. For having recorded this before our feedback I would say this is a much better episode than the first. I can't wait to see what you guys do once you have a chance to shoot new segments. Review Segment Also, maybe its just me, and maybe you guys are trying to dodge a flame war, but maybe if you guys could be a little more decisive on the ending wrap-up opinions of the anime. It seemed to me that you guys didn't really enjoy this anime a whole lot but you didn't want to really say don't watch it. I would say don't be afraid to can an anime. I think being decisive will create a more enthusiastic discussion of the anime in the forums and elsewhere after the review is over. Hima I was pleasantly surprised when you guys mentioned the video games you were playing. I am currently sober from World of warcraft but I have had quite a few 80s in top raiding guilds and 2200+ arena. I had also looked into torchlight, heard good things about it overall.Haven't gotten around to playing it. Will probably just borrow it from a friend for a quick play through. One more thing, is there anyway you guys could let us know what anime you are reviewing before the next week so maybe the audience could see an episode or two before the show? Maybe there is already a place for this I don't know if someone could point me in the right direction. ***SPOILER***SPOILER***SPOILER&***** I liked bleach up until they rescued Rukia. I thought all the captains powers were cool, and enjoyed those fights. Once they left there and went back to normal land I quickly got bored with the vizard and whatever the fuck those guys with holes in them are called and stopped watching the show. I also have never been a big fan of filler. I know its a necessity for many shows, but I think it is almost ALWAYS horrible. Last edited by fath0m : 01-14-2010 at 11:42 PM. |

Hey this is Kaiji.
Dude, don't even get me started on WoW. I'm the Paladin main tank for my guild right now and we're trying to plow through the new wing of ICC. Festergut is really kicking our asses right now and it's really embarrassing since you know...he's a large mentally challenged zombie who's just angry at you because you killed his dog. Also he farts on you and you take like...50k shadow damage if you aren't prepared for it. World of Warcraft I wish I could quit you.

I know alot of people are going back to WoW for ICC. I quit right before it came out. What really got me is that even after I have leveled like 4 80s from scratch blizzard still doesn't want to give me a auto level button to lets say 40(ala DAOC). I wanted to play a priest and by the time I leveled my 5th character to 76 my soul was so crushed from repeating the same content I just quit(not to mention the thought of grinding BGs/heroics once i HIT 80!). I don't know how much you know about the lore, but I was talking with another friend the other day about the killing of Arthas. I was never a big fan of killing off gigantically huge trademark characters (illidan) and now they are going to kill off Arthas. I really enjoyed wc3 campaign and now they are killing off all that plot. Thoughts? I know it kinda has to be done to keep the story moving but I just don't feel like there is much development of a bigger better villain to take his place. Who is left that might be sorta interesting ? Medivh is the only one in my book. Sargeras is supposed to be super pwn and all that but what have we ACTUALLY seen from him? |

Kaiji, you know, if you are serious there is a twelve-step program for you. But the first step is "wanting" to quit.
I'm joking of course. I'm (as fath0m put it so awsomely) sober of Heroes, Villains, and Wow. But the urge is still there... it lurks inside me. So i tend to spend my time playing the ones i can put down. (I type this wearily because I spent eight hours last night trying to beat the King of England in Civilizations: Colonization last night. Damn I still couldn't beat the King even after I kissed his bitch-ass ring like 60times...) --and you so know I'm in for 8more hours later after i get back home... hmmm. i might as well be playing WoW now that i think about it...damn i just exploded my point in my confession right there...ugh. |

This episode was a bit better than the last, and did you just add that segment about japan after the first episode aired or was that planned from the start?
AnimeTV still showing more potential this time than last. It would be cool to have a news segment that covers up events / discusses important events mentioned in the past week. You could use animenewsnetwork to build up those conversations. Assuming you'll eventually do weekly filming instead of filming a ton and then releasing them all. As for this show review, I haven't watched the show, and the review made me know a little bit about the show but didn't fully turn me on or off of it, which is probably a good thing from the way it sounds. If it turned me off, obviously I would never doubt the remarks about the show, which isn't what a review is supposed to be anyway. If it turned me onto the show, I feel like there's a lot of things that would have been underwhelming enough for me to really not want to watch it anymore. Since the plot seemingly doesn't seem like it's that compelling (especially with that spoiler which made me say "wow, really not a very compelling ending to a first season), it's certainly a pass for me. It's good that you covered both how funny it is and how the story is. It's good that you guys seems to be trying to tell different anime fans whether or not the show is really going to be good for them. That's important! Lastly, it would be cool to do a "retrospective" short segment, which looks at anime shows that are past their prime and have a discussion about them again. For example, talking about cowboy bebop and what you think makes it successful, or maybe even cover lessed talked about shows such as Gunbuster / Diebuster (Aim for the Top! Series) and whatever you feel would be fun to discuss. |

Kaiji and Roy need to have a segment where they watch an awful anime whilst making snarky comments MST3000 style. We all know this must be done.
(Those guys are funny).Other than that, I am very happy with the show. ![]()
