Default Weird ghost trailers on my Samsung LCD

I recently purchased a Samsung LN40B500 LCD and I've been noticing something weird playing XBox 360 and PS3 on it. Basically, any time an image the screen moves fairly quickly, I notice a weird kind of ghost image of it for a couple seconds on the area of the screen it used to be on. Is this normal? It's pretty distracting and being how this is my first HDTV, I don't have much to compare it to, other than what I've seen in stores.

- Could it be my connection? So far all I've used is an HDMI cable in one of the TV's HDMI ports.

- Is it something to do with settings that could be fixed by adjusting them?

- Is there a specific term for this problem? It might help me as I look online for help.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like some kind of setting..try disabling any image enhancements that are on one at a time when gaming in the picture settings...

Would see if something like 120 Hz is turned on or any smoothing feature is enabled. Ghosting was something present in older LCDs with lower refresh rate and high response times.
