Default Darksiders

OK how amazing is this game.

I just started playing a couple days ago. I think it's awesome how at the beginning of the game you are super powerful then have to gain that power back. It's like giving you a preview of what you are working at. At first I thought this was just a straight up get from point A to point B hack and slash, until I played through the first dungeon and I had to actually solve a puzzle to get through the dungeon. It's very reminiscent of the legend of Zelda series.

If you like that, try any of the Metroid series.

Indeed. Did you watch the TRS episode about it? They made that comparison too, as has everyone who has played it and any of the 3D Zeldas.

I am near the end... Was starting to play it tonight again, but kinda stuck. Might have to google this part.

Yeah I watched the TRS episode. jeff is the reason why I got this game. I would have gotten mass effect instead if it wasn't for that comparison.

So far I haven't gotten stuck on any parts. I love getting stuck on certain games if the puzzles are well crafted. I hate getting stuck because games fail to fully explain the rules for example if the answer is to move a certain object but the game never told you these specific objects can be moved in the first place <-- that kind of stuff makes for a bad dungeon crawler. This game makes it clear what you can and are suppose to do.

Wow the dungeons get that serious that you have to invoke the power of Google? That's awesome I can't wait to play some more. There have only been two games where I've been like WTF was I suppose to do and they where both SNES games.

In Zelda: a link to the past, in the ice castle, I believe it's crystal number 5, there is a button that has to be depressed to move on but I've never figured out how to do it without going to dungeon 6 to get that cane then come back to 5 and use it.

The other place where I've been stuck was super Mario's world

That fortress there I never figured out how to get to it until I got a computer in high school.

I want to get this game, but for some reason it doesn't seem like a game worth the full price of a new game. I'll wait until I can grab it cheap.

Meh - I do that with all ames, but this one did have me intrigued at BB. I'll start looking for it at Gamespot/EB as a second hand game soon. New games are nice to have on day 1, but a good game now, will be just as good in 6 months time after someone else has played through it.

I'm hoping this game gets lots of downloadable content. Like fable 2, extra dungeons weapons ect.

Looking forward to sinking my teeth into it, but have put it on the backlog pile, still in clingwrap. It's near the top, though...

What are you playing that is making this wait? Or what else are you going to play before Darksiders?

I've finished Mass Effect 2 with my Renegade Shepard, finished most side quests and mined nearly everything. But was just so blown away by that game and how dep it goes with taking choices rom the first one that I am now on the verge of popping in the first game, starting a female Paragon and playing through the two again.

Then Bioshock 2 is out tomorrow and I am a sucker for that world, so want to go back. Heavy Rain at the end of the month, then Final Fantasy etc etc. Plus I'm levelling a hunter in WoW ad just started The Dark Tower series. Between those, work and pkeeping friends and relationships alive, there's just not enough time in the days!

But I'm hoping to knock Bioshock over in a couple of days and slipping in some Darksiders action before Heavy Rain. It's the dream. Especially since what I hear about it just gets better and better!

I don't see this getting DLC... Maybe I'm wrong, but having just completed it, I don't see where it would fit in. Plus, a sequel is planned for next year or 2012, I forget which year. In any case, the ending sets it up nicely enough, and DLC just doesn't make sense with the storyline.

But then again, I felt BioShock didn't need a sequel, and that happened, so...
