im looking to buy a very small, energy efficient media player for tv only.
it would be great if it had a built in internet browser but thats beyond whats on the market now. im looking at either the wd tv live or the patriot box office i prefer something that has a built in option to stream revision3 shows. right now im downloading shows to my main pc, and using my xbox1 to play them. Im in dire need of replacing this old game console. also having wireless built in or as a cheap option would be great just in case i ever need it. right now my tv is an archaic RPTV with max 1080i with an hdmi input(first gen) and component inputs.. but i do plan to upgrade to a flat panel sooner or later. |

I don't think either has direct access to Revision3 (pretty sure that only Roku and TiVo do), but you can use Juice to download the episodes to the shared folder on your PC or get PlayOn (which I highly recommend for anyone with a DLNA device) and use the Revision3 plugin.
Neither has wireless built in. You'll need to get an adapter. Last edited by davidbix : 01-03-2010 at 12:44 AM. |

I would recommend waiting a few months and getting the PopBox. It does everything you want plus more. I think the price has been released at $130 and its coming this Spring. Don't have an official date yet I don't think so you will have to wait a few months definitely.
Here is a link to the official site where you can check out all the file formats, the partners it has for streaming (both Netflix and Revision3 are supported by it.) http://www.popbox.com/ |

The lowest end I have seen is the rokubox for 80 bucks. As we see more competition, it will get more interesting. But I think it would be smarter in the long run to get a micro-itx box that is upgradeable.
