Thanks man, sorry about the thread thing if i offended anyone, that advice seems to have worked so far, fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice. I'm off to enjoy the mac experience

Cheers
Matt.

*edit* and the bloody thing just crashed AGAIN. Anyone got any decent alternatives, all i need basically is MSN messenger and google talk support.

In my experiences, Adium isn't very good, but it's definitely the best(as far as AIM goes, at least).

At first, it crashed on me a few times here and there, but it hasn't crashed in months now. So, I'm not sure what to tell you, because I didn't do anything to fix it, and I haven't found any other alternatives really worth mentioning.

do all apps do it or just the IM apps? Does iChat quit on you like that?

That is really strange. You didn't mess with anything you shouldn't have when you first got it did you ?

no i didnt mess anything up. I posted a thread on the adium forums and they advised me to download the most reason BETA version which i did. Sorted straight, hasn't crashed yet so I'm happy . Apparently MSN have been messing with their servers causing many IMs to crash every so often.

Thanks for your help guys.
Matt

I recommend PathFinder, an awesome application to let you explore your things easier.

One app I like a whole lot is Democracy Player (http://www.getdemocracy.com/). I use it to watch some Revision3 shows. It allows you to subscribe to shows and get the latest episodes for them. I like it a whole lot.
