Default Cosplay; Yay or Nay?

Yeah, I wanna know, let's see how Ota you are. If you do so, place your pics here, or your favorites you have seen from Con to Con or even online.

Certainly not. But I live the lifestyle of "if you don't like it, don't do it"... In other words I have zero problems with others doing it. I should also mention that it's not because it's cosplay that I don't like it, I don't like to dress up for hallowe'en either. Costumes in general really. People should definitely be careful when choosing a costume though.

Default Most awesome

Oh hell yes. It's alot of fun and joking around. And sometimes you get to feel on outside like feel on the inside.(at least for me ^^)

My kimono usually worn at cons, although this is a halloween pic.The japanese student(on my right) found it funny that I had an actual kimono instead of a costume.

Not the least bit surprising. (I kid.)

If someone wants to dress up in a costume at a conference, thats fine with me. I am not interested in doing that myself though.

Default my one gripe...

i like seeing cosplay...its like when i see it done well, im all "hell ya!" sometimes i like when folks use weird objects to interpret what the item actually is... is it for me? no.

my one gripe is when people attempt to fit into a costume that is not-- i should say-- "appropriate" for them... with parts of their body all hanging out in a bad way. other than that im all for it.

I'm really surprised nobody cosplays here. Almost every otaku I have met in person or online likes to or wants to cosplay. It's not a prerequisite to being an anime fan, but it's strange that I found the one anime spot where people don't do it.

The gripe of everyone who goes to a con. XD Some people just don't know how to dress. They use the excuse "I'm fat, it's always gonna look this way", but no. You make the right costume and it can work. I saw a Felicia cosplay that didn't that should not be seen by anyone.(eye gougingly bad) And on the flip side there was a very well made Yuna cosplay(ffx version) who just happened to be a very large woman.(she looked more like yuna than any of the skinnier counterparts)

Default Not an Anime cosplay but...

I have been thinking for awhile now to do a Mr. Terrific cosplay... I think I might just do one this year.

I completely agree with what you said Glitch, I saw this excellent grandmother/grandson cosplay with Lady Kaede and Shippo, it completely took my head off.

Sometimes dressing in the spirit of the character while at the same time allowing some liberties with body type can go a looooong way towards making the perfect cosplay.

There is a cosplay group in the San Francisco bay area who creates the most astonishing One Piece cosplays. They even have the Thousand Sunny cosplay and a very inventive Brooks costume.

I am completely spaced when it comes to their groups name though...
