How do you mean..you mean to broadcast radio or to use it for a radio itself? More info about how you would want to use it for a net radio is needed here really..the router would probably need some kind of operating system and sound card probably...

A transmitter might be easy. a receiver is what I am looking for.. I have heard of usb sound cards added to routers with usb ports. it seems like that mplayer-nongui or the like could be compiled for such a project. the web gui could be used to manage the station choice.

I think that the AWMB100 shows some potential. It has an ethernet port, a wifi antenna, green sound output and optical output (I believe). I got one for one of my kids for a wireless client for his computer. I've messed around with it a bit and I've seen this post:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=38086 when I was looking to see if Linux would be able to use it. So maybe tonight I'll spend sometime looking at what Network sniffer would see on it. Wireshark. Maybe do some port scanning.... If you could get shell access on it, someone could probably compile a mplayer-cli and make it work. Edit: tried to fix the link Last edited by technonick : 03-04-2010 at 10:56 PM. |
