That's the problem with series like these. They are all about "references". And references aren't jokes, as The Family Guy has unfunnily proven for years.

Personally, I disagree. I think both Family Guy AND Webzeroes are funnier for the references. I like this new season better. Keep up the good work!

The difference between Family Guy and WZ, is that, while Family Guy just makes random cultural references, WZ actually integrates them into the storyline of the series. Yes, both use cut scenes, but in WZ they advance the plot; in Family Guy, they are forced and unnecessary.

The difference is fairly substantial; take a look at the South Park "Cartoon Wars" episodes for a (hilarious) demonstration of the difference.
