This Joss in, a possible director for Avengers...
Even tough I really think Dollhouse was a terrible show, I would really love to see this happen. I really liked Buffy and Angel, and I loved Firefly and Dr.Horrible.

It's the dream combo, but I worry that we'll get insane amounts of hype as a result. Everybody already has hopes of the Avengers movie being the greatest superhero film ever, so Joss is setting himself up for a big fall if he doesn't deliver on those hopes. It's a mammoth task for someone with little experience of tentpole releases. *fingers crossed*

I don't even know if anyone could pull off The Avengers. It could end up being the most epic film ever made (production-wise), even moreso than Avatar.

I think the thing with Avengers is the biggest thing behind it, is the could be one of the first large universe of films. There's franchises and such like Bond, Harry Potter, etc. But they are films under one name. These movies are the first comic like situation. They have an existing universe established in existing movies being led into one larger film. I can't think of any other time where something like this has been done.
As for Whedon, directing I think it could be a good fit. He does do ensembles real well. Especially giving characters enough attention that they're not neglected. I hope this is the break he kind of deserves. I still would have loved to seen his version of Wonder Woman. He writes great female protagonists.

this film is gonna have the biggest amount of hype around it when it comes out. not to mention if this film earns huge amounts of money(which it probably will), Warner Bros. would really have to get some Justice League movie going cause that's the next thing people will want to see
