Pat, you can get Versus. It just relaunched on DirecTV about a month ago.

Like the projector talk, but come on, is anyone exited for Avatar like me?

I emailed then this question hoping to be in next week, but I wonder if someone can help here.

Here is my question:

Default Formula One is not in HD

I hate to break it to you but F1 isn't broadcast in HD yet. It is in widescreen but it is SD that Speed TV then upconverts. Speed TV gets their video feed from Formula One Management and so far FOM has refused to upgrade to an HD signal. Last I heard they were demanding a commitment from the broadcasters to pay an increased price for the HD feed before they would do the upgrade. The only race that is shot in HD is the Japanese GP. As I understand it that race is broadcast in HD in Japan but it still goes to the rest of the world through FOM and so it is downconverted to SD before sending it out.

Default lossless high def audio

when you get around to doing a show about this, i would suggest dvd and blu-ray versions of Roy Orbison's Black and White Night, the difference is easily audible. For Blu-ray only, I suggest Paul Simon and friends, great recording.

I think Samsung's health warnings can all be chalked up to covering their legal ass. Remember, this is the United States of America, where people are not expected to accept blame and responsibility for their own stupidity, so they get to sue the manufacturer because they got a hangnail while opening the TV box and then went blind because they sat 6 inches from the screen while watching. I'm betting the first major class action lawsuit related to 3D TV will come within the next 6 months.

I was going to go out, this morning even, and get the blu-ray edition of Avatar. But since The Powers That Be are saying that a better edition will come out later in the year, I decided to wait. I'm getting tired of that game.

Casablanca! (No more needs to be said )

Edit: I forgot to taunt Patrick. 'Wyatt Earp' is several orders of magnitude better than 'Tombstone'.

Sadly, this is the truth.
