Lucid lynx still has a lot of issues especially power usage according to reports. If we were to upgrade to it the first thing we would do would be to dump amazon, ubuntu one, social networking apps, and all mono based apps/ Now that MS may be contributing to ubuntu we are dropping it..

I gave up on Ubuntu and went to Fedora with the latest releases and defected to Fedora. It's good stuff. But wait, Robert actually didn't diss the Gimp. A first for Revision3!

3D TV = meh.

Uh, .co is Colombia? But I'm not in Columbia .... I guess they want to be the next .tv.

As I said when I completed the survey, the "Missing Plugin" video was awesome! And we need html5 video on the site someday. I really never watch the shows through the site, but it would be nice to have the option. Flash is dead, even on my non-Macs where I don't want it sucking the life from my laptops.

Remind me never to cook with any of you ... gah! (scared smilie goes here). Poaching with oil would be frying I believe.

I use several distros not just debian based ones. Fedora was The origrinal redhat aka pre-fedora was my second distro.

https://edge.launchpad.net/coapp Just a con to get ms into linux so they can exact an ms tax on linux. Just shows MS is not innovative about anything. Considering how much the Embalmer bitched and falsely alleged about ms being in linux, it is an insult to say the least. I would not trust MS with the back of my hand.

Default Nexus One Turn-by-turn

Nexus One has turn-by-turn navigation with the same fly-through POV and voice notifications that I receive from stand alone devices. I successfully navigated my way to, through and back from the suburbs [shutter]. All i need is a nexus one car kit and i am good to go.

I like that we get a second HD Nation episode each week that Veronica is out.

If we could find a way to tap lunacy like this, the United States would never have an energy shortage again. Your comment makes me want to try Ubuntu again, even though I've never liked it thus far.

I'm going to post this as a second reply, so that its not in with the previous bashing one.

Again I ask...what product is that cool looking battery supply that Patrick was using for the GPS story?

I miss the lovely Bearonica and eagerly await her return, but when she just has to be elsewhere Robert is a fantastic guest host.

Actually there is a utility to ferret out the non-conforming app type stuff, but I really worry about the kernel getting encumbered with not linuxy proprietary crap. Freedom is the issue. I am not too worried though. I try to keep at least one copy where I have the source code to the base system. An os fire extinguisher. I do love Debian which Ubuntu has sponged off of and screwed up. I have not left ubuntu yet, You have to know your enemy. If you like ubuntu you will like Mint or Debian testing even better. Debian supports more platforms than ubuntu. I loved running debian on my Cisco Linksys Nslu2 for a while.

Redmond Washington: Many operating systems and one desktop. Open source: one operating system and many desktops.

Redmond Washington: Few platforms and thalt shall not port the os. Open source: many platforms and easy to port to new platforms.

Redmond Washington: Many unchangeable os's required to run an infrastructure. (i.e server desktop, etc and they don't normally run on routers). Open source: Just one os needed that can be easily changed via package selection as needed depending on needs.of each part of the infrastructure.

Redmond Washington: Pay up or else. Open source: in most cases, but not all you can use freely without all the proprietary taxes.

Redmond Washington: Buy new computing hardware every other moment to support a bloated os.(you can not modify) when they want more money out of you. Open source: upgrade hardware when you want to and increase the roi (return on investment) of existing hardware via software updates and modifications you can do yourself or hire someone to do.

Redmond Washington: proprietary insanity Open source: Sane computing when not muddled by proprietary non-robust code,
