I imagine they have this theme for a few reasons...
1. It flows well with the design of the main site. 2. Since it's not a custom theme, they didn't have to spend money or time designing a custom one. Most forums start out very basic and build from there. This is what, the third or fourth day these forums have officially been up? I'd imagine if they plan to customize the forums more, it won't come until things have settled down around here.

Do you know how much work it is to make a theme for a forum? They don't have that many people working there and most of the focus should be going to digg and the main Rev3 page.
The theme fits the site perfectly. Why do the work when someone else already has.

The theme is fine, although I prefer having the user info on the left side instead of being on top of the post.

I like it. It matches the site perfectly.
Plus, they paid 30 bucks for it. With that kind of money invested into it, I don't think they'll be changing it any time soon...
