Default Is it just me, or did The Simpsons just reveal what state they live in?

On last Sunday's Simpsons, one of the worst episodes I've seen in awhile, the Texan said "And we found out we're both from the same state." To which Homer replied, "Conneticut!" Now correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Homer born and raised in the Springfield we all know and love? Has it finally been revealed (in the most anticlimactic way) that the Simpsons reside in Springfield, Conneticut?

I was shocked, disgusted, but above all, dissappointed.

So if anyone in this black-plague pillaged landscape has anything to say on the subject, hit me back.

People still watch "The Simpsons"? that show has seriously went down hill. It used to be so god damn funny.

I remember one episode where they showed a map of Springfield. They said that west Springfield was twice the size of Texas. I smell a plot hole! LOL

Also, on the "Behind the laughs" (parody of behind the music) episode they also mention they live in some state as well.

Huh, I didn't even realize that. I thought he was just making a stupid joke. Though, when they did finally say what state they were in, I'd kind of expect it to be in a throwaway line.

Now I would like to mention that he did say what state he's from not where he lives but I thought he was born in Springfield too...

And by the way, I'll have to go back and check out the Behind the Laughs episode.

Na wasn't Homer born on some hippy commune. When he went on the adventure to figure out what his middle initial stood for.

But him and Abe also burn down his childhood home which looks like it's on the outskirts of Springfield, around where Cletus lives...

Probably not though.

And I remember the hippy one too. Maybe he was born there? I remember him being there as a baby, but I thought he wasn't born and/or didn't live there? Cause it was just a barn and fields, right?

Perhaps it was a George Bush reference? I haven't seen the scene in question, but maybe it was a joke about Bush's claim to be a Texan... just a thought.

From Homers tone of voice I thought it was joke about him not knowing that the Texan guy was from Texas, the George Bush thing could be another joke but I didnt think Homer was saying thats where he is from
