Default More like iCult

This guy had negative things to say about anything that wasn't Steve Jobs and Apple related. Of course, he had nothing negative to say about apple devices, although there are many that come to mind (like the iPad wireless issues). This show is not tech related at all, it is all about Apple propaganda. Actually Tom does look a little like Joseph Goebbels. Maybe you should change the name of the show to iCult, it would be a much more accurate description.

lol, you're so funny

Did they not create the list from gdgt.com, using the "want" stats? That's just what people have "voted" (if you want to call it that).

The show is not always going to be Apple heavy. Also, it IS tech/internet related.

Just read the description, and you might understand the show better.
Quote:
Tom cuts through the clutter, and counts down what's trending in the geek zeitgeist. From the hottest gadgets and downloads to the weirdest internet memes, Tom's Top 5 is the newest go-to resource for what people are really talking about in the nerd-osphere.
Also, check out Toms show that he used to do on CNET, which is essentially the same, "Top 5", to get an idea of what the show will be like.

"This guy" as you call him, is not an apple fanatic. Watch his show, Tech News Today on twit (http://www.twit.tv/tnt), and you'll see that he is not like that. You could also check out old episodes of Buzz Out Loud (http://bol.cnet.com), when he was still doing that. He is not a fanboy. Tom Merrit has worked for some of the biggest tech media companies, like TechTV (when it was still around), CNET, and TWiT.

Also, regarding what he looks like, the beard is awesome. He had been clean cut for so long(as long as I can remember), and when he left CNET about a month ago, he decided to let it go, and that's cool.

(just noticed I did some heavy show plugging in there, whatever)

As awful as much as it was predictable. Tom's Top Five?

How about Gdgt's top five. This kind of "show" really makes me miss Systm.

Yeah because the 5 choices weren't based on external stats or anything.

Default The list wasn't Mac heavy, the review was.

The list wasn't Mac heavy, the review of each of the items was very Omitted-variable bias, with obvious favoritism toward Mac. I just prefer a hard look at all the products, and that is not what we got. I can understand why Tom is afraid to say anything negative about Mac, like any cult it tries to destroy anyone who doesn't fall into step and line with their mindless sales pitch. This is especially true when it comes to the media. Too bad, it could have been a good tech show.

You are so delusional. I won't argue anymore though.
