Dear lord Toy Story 3 was amazing. I saw it with some friends last Friday night. At first I thought I would be smiling the entire movie out of pure enjoyment then the roller coaster fell down the hill, hit the loopty loop, and then barrel rolled into the saddest then most heartwarming last 30 minutes of a movie. You know when you try to hold back a laugh it just makes it worse? I think that happened to me with my eye water sockets.
Oh and when one friend looked over to me after the credits, a bit of tear still in my eye, and said, "Not bad," I called him a heartless bastard. I could not gush more about this movie, although I might be biased because literally the first movie memory, perhaps one of my first memories, I have is going to the theater and seeing Toy Story with my dad, this one just brought back so much. Next year is going to be tough to beat for me. I seriously doubt Cars 2 could live up to half the quality of the worst parts of Toy Story 3. Also, Jeff what was the cover you had on your iPhone? It looked a whole lot better than the rubber Belkin case I have for mine. Last edited by vampjoe : 06-23-2010 at 04:35 AM. |

I'm going to be seeing Toy Story 3, but I'm wondering if 3D is a good idea or not. I wish they would give their impressions on if the 3D is effective or not when they get to see a movie in 3D.

I saw it in 2d. I got the impression that you weren't missing a whole lot with the 3D. If you are the type that is not bothered by 3D's downs (darker lighting, headaches.. ect) then I don't think 3D would harm the experience.

I haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet, largely because I've been busy getting ready to graduate. I am one of those kids that grew up with Toy Story when I was much younger, and as this film comes out, Andy and I are both moving away. Hearing about the empty room scene when Andy finally moves away; I know my mother will totally start tearing up.

I laughed when the guy started mopping the floor behind them.
As mostly an MMO player, it was killing me that there was a huge sign for FF14 just off camera and they didn't mention it at all. I'm guessing there was no Star Wars Old Republic info either, otherwise Alex would have spilled some giddy beans. I'm glad I skipped out on this current gen of consoles. Movement control doesn't appeal to me, at all, and now all three companies are heading in that direction in a big way. |

As for Toy Story I think the action set pieces really benefit from the 3D especially the running away and holding hands scenes (try not to spoil TOO much). You really get a sense of how deep the second one is compared to the toys.

I was eating lunch and was a bit distracted - looked up and saw Dan reading the Adobe copy off of and iPad and ... LOLWUT!? upon rewinding I saw that Jeff had caught it, but WOW that's just WOW. I was shocked. That was shocking.
A bit like reading a McDonalds ad off a Whopper wrapper. a - mazing No way they could see everything nor talk about everything they saw. I think they highlighted what stuck out in their minds. Excited to find out more about Homefront - wish I could see the gameplay demo they saw - the E3 '09 footage is a bit underwhelming. If it shoots good I'm in like Flynn (TRON - I need to know more about TRON) Considering a handheld for the first time since the original Gameboy. Not so much for the 3D, but for the power to play fully realized 3D games and the analog nub. Great E3 discussion. I'd like to hear more (leave em' wanting more) - only thing I missed was video footage (or even still pics in corner) while they talked about certain games. Understand that's a bunch of work for snoopmikey. After seeing and hearing about it all there's actually a good amount of games to be excited about. For me its the new Zelda, Portal 2 and the 3DS in general. It seems like the new motion devices just don't have the games to make them appealing atm. Next year's E3 maybe they'll have something more than Wii Sports HD as they said. *Also, the Rock Band 3 stuff being able to use "real guitars" is crazy. Is it just a MIDI guitar pickup or it has to be the Strat they showed? As a guitar playing type person I am really intrigued about the possibility for actually learning from TAB as you play. The cost of entry just seems overwhelming to get that full experience (at least for me). Shame they can't release that for PC and allow standard MIDI inputs. PS3 Move is such a ripoff of the Wii, its unbelievable. The wand looks so stupid with that dumb ball at the end and the nunchuck is an exact copy. Boooooooooooo
Kinect is totally a different experience since you can use your whole body and it interacts perfectly. Cant wait to buy it in November. |

* just took a look at how expensive a MIDI guitar conversion kit would be ... I think I'll put that on the list with the full motion racing chair. |
