This may be an odd question. However.... What is Beef Wellington like? I've never eaten this dish before, and I'm curious if it tastes as good as it looks. Is it like pot roast or something similar?

Do you like a moist, tender steak? Do you like mushrooms? Those are the two base flavors. The pastry adds a nice texture, but only minor flavor.

It tastes as good as it looks, but is far more like an English Roast Beef (dry roast, not braise like you do a pot roast), with mushroom gravy, and Yorkshire pudding.

Completely dissimilar from pot roast.

It is very different to pot roast. Basially it is the best most tender meat that you will ever taste that is then wrapped in really rich and crumbly pastry with delicious mushroom mix. I am not joking you when I say it is one of the best things you will ever eat! That is not blowing my own trumpet because I didn't invent the recipe! It is just so good!

No beef Wellington. But, I did make some roast pork loin. And, yes, those are Food Mob potato wedges.

Was it possibly a Sushi Knife?

That would explain accuracy and sharpness that a Chef would like.

'cept those idiots on TV that tell me I can harvest my own snake boots and make great Salsa that night with no sharpening. Don't let that get to the Food Safety folks. They will go Ape Shhtuff over that.

Amazing how many people ar making those wedges! Even Aaron said he made them! Guess it is just a case of shaking them all together and throwing in to the oven! Thanks for sharing!

Who buys this crap? I drive past a couple of trailer parks each day, and could pretty much guarantee that there are a couple of residents with the tv fixed to QVC and HSN.

As a side note, I am thinking of buying a Kyocera ceramic 7" chefs knife, and maybe the smaller paring knife. Who needs QVC? I gots tha intarwebs.
