I asked electricspin.com how to hack the Launchpad SP2 to play on my Windows XP computer. Well, of course they said they do not support that effort. What must I do to accomplish this hack if it is possible? Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your show, Den |

What is the "Launchpad SP2"? The only "Launchpad"'s I'm aware of are the type used by helicopters, space shuttles/rockets, regular rockets and a software hosting/repository site of the same name.

Well, you can probably get the game to run using an emulator, but PS2 emulators are not particullaly reliable. Some games work, some don't. The trick is going to be the crazy accessory it comes with. It really comes down to how that's implemented. If it's USB, it's going to need a driver that is probably only present in the PS2 game and was writen for the PS2 platform. The emulator might have a USB mapping system, no idea, if it doesn't, then there is probably no way to make it work. If, on the other hand, it connects using the controller connector, you can probably just get one of those "USB to PS2 controller port" adapters and hope you can map it correctly in the emulator.

After a Rodin pose and some internet creep I came to the same conclusion as you have. For about $8.00 for the PS2 to USB connector with shipping I could try that path.
Thanks for you info and the great show, Den |
