Default Movie: The Next Three Days (2010)

Holy crappola . . . a flick I just happened to add to my Netflix list for some reason and man, am I happy I did. One of the better suspense films I can remember seeing in such a long time. One of the few movies I've watched in a few years where everything else just faded away 'cause I zoned out so completely. A great, great movie and one I thought I'd mention to the RADicals.

That's so funny. I added this movie just because and it's been sitting on my table for weeks. my roommate saw it the other day and told me it was epic.

AMAZING MOVIE!

Haven't felt tension in a movie like this in forever. Really well done. Can't believe it got bad press and was held back from release for so long.

I saw a public screening of it a few months ago and really did not like it. It was very conventional, Russell Crowe mailed it in, and the ending was blatantly not ambiguous, which ruined the entire moral point of the movie. Do not recommend at all.

Same here, as well as Elizabeth Banks . . . her hopeless despair and helpless gazes were gut-punching.

She did a better job than Crowe, but I just can't buy her as an actor, no idea why. Not this movie's fault though by any stretch.

The movie felt lazy to me. The Liam Neeson character was too much of the wise-guy-shows-up-and-exposits-everything cliché and the "I love you so much I want to break you out of prison and escape to a third world country to raise our family in a mud hut with a squat-toilet" motivation for Crowe felt unrealistic. And it would have been so much better if it was ambiguous about whether or not Elizabeth Banks did it, since she was clearly playing the character like she might have done it, but the scene at the end felt tacked on to get the "hollywood ending."
